This is a set of 4 'Buffalo' wire wheels intended for the IMC Mercer Runabout model kit. The original wooden wheels are too fragile for racing and these wheels are stronger.

Early Indy 500 race cars relied heavily on large 20-inch knock-off wire-spoke wheels through the 1920s and 1930s to allow fast tire changes and handle grueling brick track conditions, before transitioning to sturdier alloy and cast magnesium wheels by the early 1950s.
These Buffalo are similar to the 1/16 scale wire wheels but have fewer spokes and are 1" OD. They can be used for 1/25 scale or 1/16, depending on your build.
Fully assembled and includes 3D-printed tires painted Tamiya TS-82 "Rubber Black". Also includes hex head axle stubs.
