This looks like a steel jacketed cable with a small gauge stainless steel wire wrapped in a gray nylon jacket. The covering has a slight pattern to it and is not completely smooth like an aluminum line.
This is ideal for a throttle or parachute release cable where a steel cable is housed in a jacket.
Another great use would be for trucks needing cables for tie down or tow trucks.
The wire core is springy and doesn't droop like a soft line and it isn't rigid like an aluminum line.
