Optima batteries are made with different color tops to distinguish their purpose.
- Blue Top/Light Gray Case - Marine and RV use.
- Yellow Top/Light Gray Case - heavily modified from an electrical perspective (aftermarket stereo, car alarm, winch, etc...) or it sits unused for long periods of time without access to a battery maintainer, that application is considered a "deep-cycle" application.
- Red Top/Dark Gray Case - relatively-stock from an electrical perspective.
